BEIT TRUST SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

The Beit Trust is pleased to announce the opening of its bursary programme for the 2024/2025 academic year. This prestigious scholarship program offers financial support to talented Malawian, Zambian, and Zimbabwean students pursuing Master’s Degrees at renowned universities in the UK and South Africa.

MORE ABOUT BEIT TRUST SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

Upon selection, the candidate will be granted two program options: a one-year taught Master’s degree in the UK or a two-year taught Master’s degree in South Africa. Both programs integrate a research component, requiring prior completion of an Honours program.

The scholarship covers the following expenses while you focus on your studies:

  • Full Tuition Coverage: Academic expenses, fees, and tuition costs will be paid directly to the university, eliminating financial burdens for the selected candidate.
  • Maintenance Allowance: A personal allowance, indexed annually based on independent expert guidance, will be provided to cover living expenses throughout the program.
  • Additional Allowances: Laptop, arrival, and departure costs will also be covered, ensuring a smooth transition and well-equipped learning experience.
  • Travel Support: Economy class airfares will be provided to facilitate travel between the candidate’s home country and the chosen university.

BEIT TRUST SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Citizenship and Residency:

  • Be a national and permanent resident of Malawi, Zambia, or Zimbabwe.
  • Intend to return to your home country after completing your studies.

Age and Experience:

  • No older than 35 years old on December 31, 2023.
  • Possess relevant work experience (advantageous).

Academic Qualifications:

  • Hold an Honors degree (First/Upper Second/equivalent) at an undergraduate level.
  • Doctors and Vets:
    • Completed an 18-month internship and a one-year posting (preferably rural) in Malawi, Zambia, or Zimbabwe.

Program Specifics:

  • Planning to pursue a postgraduate (Master’s) degree at one of the listed partner universities.
  • Not currently enrolled in any other studies.
  • UK Universities:
    • Have applied and been accepted to one of the aforementioned UK universities.
  • South African Universities:
    • May apply without a confirmed offer but must be accepted before the program start date.
  • Applicants with a First Class/Distinction or Upper Second Class Honors degree/equivalent at an undergraduate level are encouraged to apply.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE BEIT TRUST SCHOLARSHIP

BEIT TRUST SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS
