Absa invites applications for funding from students who are top achievers and are committed to changing their lives through education. In order for your application to be considered for 2024 academic year, you must be studying towards a qualification in one of the listed study fields:
- Actuarial Science
- Computer Science
- Industrial Engineering
- Information Technology
- Mathematics
- Risk Management
- Statistics
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE ABSA BURSARY
If your education path falls within the fields of study listed above, additionally you must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizenship: Applicants must be South African citizens.
- Matriculation: Applicants must have successfully completed Matric, the equivalent of high school graduation in South Africa.
- Academic achievement: Applicants must have achieved a minimum overall average of 75% in their Matric examinations.
- Bachelor’s degree pursuit: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in one of the specified fields.
- University affiliation: Applicants must be enrolled at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa.
- Academic excellence: Applicants must demonstrate a strong academic record throughout their educational journey.
WHICH COURSES DOES ABSA BURSARY COVER?
The bursary will provide comprehensive financial support for a wide range of expenses, including:
- Registration fees: The bursary will cover the full cost of registration fees to ensure that students can enroll in their chosen academic programs without financial constraints.
- Tuition fees: The bursary will cover the full cost of tuition fees, alleviating the financial burden of pursuing higher education.
- Accommodation: The bursary will provide a designated allowance for accommodation costs, whether students reside in university residences or opt for approved alternative accommodation options.
- Laptop: In recognition of the crucial role of technology in modern education, the bursary will provide a laptop to each recipient, facilitating seamless access to academic resources and online learning platforms.
