Nkangala District Municipality Bursary 2024 – 2025

The Nkangala District Municipality bursary programme targets previously disadvantaged individuals residing within Nkangala District municipality who wish to study in 2023. Applicants must be studying on full time basis and be enrolled in a university of TVET college in South Africa.

About Nkangala District Municipality

The Nkangala District Municipality is one of three district municipalities in Mpumalanga Province. It is composed of six local municipalities: Emakhazeni, Emalahleni, Victor Khanye, Steve Tshwete, Thembisile Hani, and Dr JS Moroka with its headquarters based in Middelburg.

The Nkangala District Municipality neighbors Limpopo, Gauteng and Northwest provinces. The proximity to Gauteng Province opens up opportunities to a larger market, which is of benefit to the district’s agricultural and manufacturing sectors. There is further potential in exporting goods that provides opportunities within the district.


Nkangala District Municipality Bursary Requirements

  • Only South African citizens who reside within the borders of NDM: Emakhazeni, Emalahleni, Victor Khanye, Steve Tshwete, Thembisile Hani, and Dr JS Moroka can apply for the bursary
  • TVET college student are encourged to submit their applications
  • The bursary prioritized study programmes listed below

How To Apply For The Bursary?

To apply for the Nkangala District Municipality bursary you need to fill in the application form. The form can be downloaded from the council’s website. The complete application form must be hand delivered to any local municipality Youth offices and Nkangala District Municipality.

  • Recent academic record (certified copies)
  • South African ID document (certified copy)
  • Proof of residence (certified copy)
  • Acceptance letter from the institution you will be studying at
  • Proof of joint parents income

Closing Date

The closing date is 28 October 2022 and late applications will not be considered
