Solar Capital is a South African utility-scale solar power plant developer based in Cape Town. The company focuses on building large-scale solar farms (10-200MW) and are committed to providing affordable renewable energy solutions.

SOLAR CAPITAL BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS OF STUDY
Applicants must be pursuing a tertiary education qualification (degree/diploma or equivalent qualification) in 2024 academic year. Students doing any (Undergrad/Honours/ Masters/Doctoral) studies may not apply for the bursary.
MORE ABOUT SOLAR CAPITAL BURSARY – ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- South African citizens
- Previously disadvantaged individuals (Black, Coloured, Indian, etc)
- In 2024; be studying matric or on a gap-year after matric in 2024
- Studying full-time (2024 onwards).
- Studying for any field/topic at a DHET/SAQA-recognized tertiary school/university.
- Unemployed (not working full or part-time in 2024),
- From the Hantam Region (4 towns): Nieuwoudtville, Loeriesfontein, Calvinia, Brandvlei
- Have applied to study in 2024 or have already been accepted for registration in 2024.
SOLAR CAPITAL BURSARY VALUE & BENEFITS
Successful applicants will have the following expenses taken care of by Solar Capital while they focus on their studies:

- Accommodation
- Books
- Laptop
- Transport
- Living allowance

Required Documents
All Applicants:
- A valid South African identity document (certified copy)
- Recent certified Parents/Guardian’s valid South African ID (or death certificate if deceased)*
- A CV of work experience and background
- Proof of household income (certified copy of SASSA docs or 3 months Payslips of parents/guardians) – Please attach affidavits confirming unemployment, if parent/s are unemployed*
- Certified documents must no be older than 3 months
- In cases where you have multiple documents for 1 submission, please combine/scan them into 1 file that you can upload
Matrics
- Grade 12 Term 2 Report (it must have school’s official stamp)
Matric / Gap Year Student
- Certified copy of valid matric certificate (Grade 12)
