The IMESA Bursary is offered by the Institute of Municipal Engineering of Southern Africa (IMESA). It targets learners who are pursuing Civil Engineering and related qualifications in infrastructure engineering.
The IMESA bursary accommodates learners who are children of IMESA members, as well as to students who are not children of IMESA members but who meet the other requirements need to apply for the IMESA bursary.

Note all bursary recipeints are appointed a mentor and encouraged to be involved in IMESA activities.
Bursary Requirements:
- Learners must be studying full-time for a Civil Engineering degree or a qualification in any field of study under infrastructure engineering.n
- Learners must be studying or enrolled to study at an ECSA accredited tertiary educational institution in South Africa.
- Learners must have successfully completed their first year of studies.
How To Apply?
Applications for the IMESA Bursary must be submitted to the IMESA Head Office by no later than 15th, September. All applicants when submitting the application form must include all supporting documentation and be willing to attend an interview.

- Applicants must note that the bursary is awarded at the discretion of the IMESA Executive Committee.
- All successful applicants will be contacted by the end of the year.
All applicants must include the following when submitting the application form:
- Applicant ID document (certified copy)
- Applicabt 2023 mid year exam results (certified copy)
- Affidavit declaring your parents/ guardians monthly income, and your financial situation
- Undersigned statement from the tertiary institute, declaring your academic progress in your first year
