The Hillary Construction Bursary 2025/2026 can fund your studies to help you secure yourself a qualification. The bursary is limited to South African students who are pursuing their Diploma or Degree qualifications in recognized universities and universities of technology.
About Hillary Construction Bursary
Hillary Construction was established in 1963 when Bill and Irene Hillary started moving dirt in Limpopo. Formalised as a civil engineering contractor in 1967, it remains headquartered in Polokwane while working across South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Zambia.
The company specialises in bulk earthworks, road building and rehabilitation, in-situ pavement recycling, upgrading gravel roads to bitumen, airfield construction, earth dams and full township development. Over the decades it has delivered for major clients including Anglo American Platinum, Impala Platinum, De Beers, SANRAL, government road agencies in four countries, and numerous municipalities and private developers.
Hillary Construction Bursary – Fields of Study
The Hillary Construction Bursary supports undergraduate students who are pursuing any Engineering qualification. Studies must be undertaken in a public university within the borders of South Africa. Here are the fields that are covered:
- Civil Engineering

- Surveying
Eligibility Criteria – Who Can Apply?
- South African citizen / permanent resident
- Matric exemption certificate and proof of academic results
- For University students – Minimum symbol C for Maths and Science
- For University of Technology students – Minimum symbol D for Maths and Science
- Minimum of 65% aggregate rating

Your email subject must be “Hillary Construction Bursary 2026”. Note: candidates will receive a copy of the official application form from Hillary Construction, if they meet all of the criteria.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted via telephone or email and required to attend an interview and psychometric testing at the Hillary Construction Head Office in Polokwane.
