WHAT ARE THE HILLARY CONSTRUCTION BURSARY REQUIREMENTS?

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered:

  • Be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
  • Have a Grade 12 exemption certificate and proof of academic results.
  • Be studying or intend to study towards a National Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Surveying.
  • Be enrolled or intend to enrol at a recognised university or university of technology in South Africa.
  • University applicants must have achieved at least a C symbol in Mathematics and Physical Science in Matric.
  • University of technology applicants must have achieved at least a D symbol in Mathematics and Physical Science in Matric.
  • Have a minimum overall aggregate of 65%.

Important programme condition: Successful candidates are first offered a one-year Road Construction Learnership. This initial year is treated as a gap year, during which Hillary Construction considers whether to provide sponsorship for the following academic year.

WHAT DOES THE HILLARY CONSTRUCTION BURSARY COVER?

The bursary covers the following study-related expenses:

  • Annual registration fees.
  • Tuition fees.
  • Examination fees.
  • A monthly allowance for accommodation.
  • A monthly allowance for food.
  • A monthly allowance for travelling expenses.
  • Study-related equipment, subject to request.

The bursary information does not publish a fixed funding amount or a detailed breakdown of the monthly allowances.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE HILLARY CONSTRUCTION BURSARY?

Applications are submitted by emailing documents to hr@hillary.co.za.

Applicants who meet the minimum entry requirements must send their CV and proof of academic results to Hillary Construction’s Human Resources department. Applicants who satisfy the initial criteria will be sent the official bursary application form to complete.

Use Hillary Construction Bursary 2027 as the email subject line so that the application can be identified by the Human Resources department.

WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE NEEDED FOR THE HILLARY CONSTRUCTION BURSARY?

The initial email submission must include the following:

  • A full Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Proof of academic results.

Applicants should provide their Grade 12 academic results and, where applicable, their latest tertiary academic results. The official application form is forwarded to candidates who meet the initial eligibility criteria. Any additional supporting documents required at that stage should be confirmed through the form and instructions supplied by Hillary Construction.

Hillary Construction (Pty) Ltd is a South African civil engineering and construction company based in Polokwane, Limpopo. The company specialises in road construction, earthworks, steel-reinforced concrete structures and related civil engineering activities. It also manufactures and supplies surfacing products and emulsions to the construction industry.

Through its bursary programme, Hillary Construction supports students pursuing qualifications in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying and Surveying. The initial Road Construction Learnership gives selected candidates an opportunity to gain practical exposure to the construction industry before the company considers sponsorship for further study.
