Pyrotec is a 59 year old South African company that is 100% privately owned with a board of directors and executive leadership. Some of its services include coding and labelling equipment, anti-counterfeiting services, promotional tools and merchandising services solutions.
The head office of the company is based in Muizenberg in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Pyrotec remains committed to education which is the key driver to continuos investment the company directs to skills development and community support.
What Is The Pyrotec Bursary?
The Pyrotec Bursary is a financial support scheme that the company makes available to students who meet the application criteria. It is in a form of a bursary that you receive on year to year basis depending on your performance.
The bursary assist students who are pursuing qualifications in specific fields of study that are listed in below. The benefits of the bursary cover expenses like tuition fees and others incurred during your studies. Below we will provide the list of expenses covered by Pyrotec Bursary in 2026 academic year.
Fields of Study
In order to qualify for the 2026 academic year financial support, you must be studying towards a qualification in one of these fields:
- Information Technology & Communication
- Engineering Professionals
- Architects, Town Planners, Surveyors and Designers
- Business Management & Economics Professionals
- Natural & Social Science
- Professionals Quality and Regulatory Professionals
- Media Professionals, Artistic, Literary, Design and Graphic Design/DTP
- Sales, Marketing and related Associate Professionals
- Sports and Fitness Professionals
- Finance Professionals
- Human Resources Professionals
- Science and Engineering Associate Professionals
Expenses Covered by the Pyrotec Bursary
The bursary will cover expenses students incur during their studies in one of fields listed above. These are as follows:
- Tuition Fees
- Accommodation
- Transport allowance
- Book allowance
Eligibility Criteria – Who Can Apply?
Preference for the Pyrotec Bursary Programme 2026 will be given to African & Coloured candidates only.
Meals, repeat modules (self-funded), or outstanding fees will not be covered by this bursary. Upon completion you will be expected to work-back a period equal to the number of years you were funded.

Supporting Documents
You must include the following documents in your application for the Pyrotec Bursary:
- A certified copy of your ID (green book or smart card).
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate.
- Acceptance or registration proof at the university where you will be studying (in a letterhead).
- Bursary motivation letter stating why Pyrotec, why this study field and how you will give back
- Students residing outside of campus must provide proof of address for travelling allowance.
Closing Date
30 January 2026.
Late submissions will result in your disqualification. Apply before the closing date.
