Nestled within the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality, previously known as Qaukeni Municipality, grapples with significant challenges. INGQUZA HILL MUNICIPALITY BURSARY FIELDS OF STUDY

The Municipality hereby invites application from students who wish to receive financial assistance in 2024 academic year. You must be pursuing a qualification in one of the listed fields of study:

  • Civil and Building/ Electrical Engineering
  • Financial Accounting (CA)
  • Maritime Studies
  • Town and Regional Planning

INGQUZA HILL MUNICIPALITY ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality bursary, you must meet the following criteria:

Age:

  • You must be between 18 and 35 years old.

Residence:

  • You must reside within the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality boundaries.

Education:

  • You must be currently in Matric (grade 12) in 2023 or have completed Matric.
  • You must be studying or intend on studying towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the following fields:
    • Agriculture
    • Education
    • Engineering
    • Health Sciences
    • Science
    • Social Work

University:

  • You must be studying or have been accepted to study at a recognized and accredited university in South Africa.
  • You must meet the academic requirements for admission to your chosen program.

Financial Need:

  • You must demonstrate financial need, with a household income of not more than R350,000 per annum.

HOW TO APPLY FOR INGQUZA HILL MUNICIPALITY BURSARY

To ensure your application for the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality Bursary is complete and considered, please submit the following documents:

1. Application Letter: * Signed and addressed to the attention of the Municipal Manager. * Stamped with the official stamp of your respective Ward Councillor.

2. Matriculation Documentation: * Matric certificate (if completed Matric). * Matric June and trial exam results (if currently in Matric).

3. Proof of University Enrollment: * Acceptance letter, provisional acceptance letter, or proof of application from your chosen university.

4. University Fee Structure: * Official quotation outlining the university’s fee structure, including: * Tuition fees * Accommodation costs * Prescribed textbook amounts

5. Proof of Household Income: * Parents’ or guardians’ latest payslips (if employed). * Affidavit if unemployed. * Proof of SASSA grant (if applicable).

6. Proof of Residence: * Any document verifying your address within the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality boundaries (e.g., utility bill, lease agreement).
