The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Bursaries
The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation bursary offers quality education from one of South Africa’s top achieving partner high schools to students who are in financial need, have a curious entrepreneurial mindset, and have the potential to excel academically.
Who Can Apply?
Applicant must be a current grade 6 learner in year of application
Applicant must be a South African citizen
Applicant must be 12 years of age in the year of application
Applicant must demonstrate financial need
Applicant must obtain a minimum of 70 % for English and Mathematics
Applicant must obtain a minimum of 70% average for remaining subjects
The applicant must demonstrate the following entrepreneurial characteristics
Scholarships Value
The scholarship covers the students cost towards the following:
Tuition and boarding
Stationery and textbooks
A monthly allowance
Toiletries, uniforms and casual clothing
Support for extra murals
Scholarship Application Process
Submit hard copy of your application form and supporting documentation or apply online
Successful applicant will be required to write an exam
After the exam, successful candidates will be invited for interviews
Recommended candidates will be invited to the placement schools for interviews.
Candidates whose recommendations are approved by the placement schools will be awarded the Scholarship
Once the Scholarship is awarded, the Foundation, placement school and the Scholar’s custodian sign a Memorandum of Agreement
Matric Students Engineering Law Commerce Science Humanities Arts Health Science (excluding Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science) 1st and 2nd year students:
