WHAT ARE THE BASF SOUTH AFRICA TRUST BURSARY REQUIREMENTS?
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements for the BASF South Africa Trust Bursary:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be female.
- Be Black in terms of the B-BBEE Codes, including African, Coloured and Indian applicants.
- Be currently completing Matric in 2026 or have completed Matric.
- Be studying or intending to study towards an eligible Undergraduate or Honours qualification.
- Be studying or intending to study Chemistry, Engineering or an eligible Science qualification.
- Study or intend to study at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.
- Demonstrate financial need, with a combined household income of no more than R630,000 per annum.
- Have a strong academic record.
- Have no criminal record.
- Not receive another bursary or scholarship for the 2027 academic year.

The BASF South Africa Trust Bursary provides full financial support for the following study-related expenses:

ABOUT THE BASF SOUTH AFRICA TRUST
The BASF South Africa Trust is a registered Public Benefit Organisation established to empower Black South African women through education. The Trust provides scholarships, bursaries and academic awards for Black women pursuing studies in chemistry, sciences and engineering.
The Trust was established in 2017 by BASF Holdings South Africa and has provided educational support to students pursuing higher education in South Africa.
