WHAT ARE THE TISO FOUNDATION BURSARY REQUIREMENTS?

Applicants must meet the programme’s citizenship, age, academic, financial and study requirements.

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be between 18 and 34 years old.
  • Come from a previously disadvantaged background; the current programme information identifies Black, Coloured and Indian applicants.
  • Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric.
  • Be studying or intending to study full-time.
  • Be pursuing an undergraduate degree or National Diploma in any field.

WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE NEEDED FOR THE TISO FOUNDATION BURSARY?

  • Certified latest Matric results, if currently in Matric.
  • Certified Matric certificate, if Matric has been completed.
  • Certified latest tertiary academic results, if already studying.
  • Proof of registration, acceptance or provisional acceptance at a recognised university or university of technology.
  • Proof of household income for parents or guardians.
  • Supporting financial documents where applicable, such as recent payslips, an affidavit for an unemployed parent or guardian, proof of pension or grant income, or death certificates where a parent or guardian is deceased.
  • References as required by the application.

The Tiso Foundation is a South African public benefit organisation established in 2001 to contribute to socio-economic development through education, skills development and support for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Tiso Foundation Undergraduate Bursary forms part of the Foundation’s education support programmes. The 2027 programme combines financial support for undergraduate study with academic, personal development and career-related support aimed at helping beneficiaries complete their studies and develop their future careers.
