Mezzanine Bursary 2025 – Application Guidelines & Fields of Study

The Mezzanine Bursary is offered by Mezzanine – a company that is a member of Vodacom Group. Established in 2012 in South Africa, Mezzanine has built digital solutions for the healthcare and agriculture industries. These solutions rely on are integrated with mobile networks to serve customers in South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Mozambique, Zambia, Kenya, Liberia and Tanzania.

WHAT IS MEZZANINE BURSARY?

The Mezzanine Bursary is a merit based financial aid scheme targeting first-year undergraduate students in Computer Science. Applicants for the bursary programme must be academically capable but lack financial ability to complete studies. Succeeful applicants will have expenses like tuition, accommodation and books taken care of by Mezzanine.

Mezzanine intends awarding bursaries to Western Cape province students for 2025 academic year. The Mezzanine Bursary programme is for Undergraduate studies in Computer Science.

MEZZANINE BURSARY ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

In order to be considered for the Mezzanine Bursary programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must reside in the Western Cape province
  • Unemployed applicants only
  • You must have passed with a minimum of 65% average or higher in matric
  • You must be accepted or enrolled for full-time undergraduate studies, at a recognised and accredited South African university
  • You must be studying towards a degree in Computer Science
  • You must NOT hold any other bursary for 2025 academic year
  • Applicants with a criminal record must NOT apply
  • Applicants without a clear credit record must not apply
  • Only first year undergraduate students can apply

EXPENSES COVERED BY THE MEZZANINE BURSARY PROGRAMME

Successful applicants for 2025 academic year will have the following expenses covered: tuition fees, university accommodation and a textbooks allowance.

The Mezzanine Bursary is comprehensive because it covers primary tertiary expenses which include tuition, books and residence.

Applications tor the bursary get evaluated on academic merit bases, financial distress, which are both aligned with Mezzanine equity objectives.

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO APPLY FOR THE MEZZANINE BURSARY

Follow the steps below to make sure that your application is submitted correctly:

Step 1

All interested students who wish to apply for the Mezzanine Bursary must check if they meet all requirements. These include field of study and selection criteria

Step 2

Applicants must make sure that they have all required documents. These include:

  • Your Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • A certified copy of your South Africa ID (not older than 3 months)
  • A certified copy of your Matric certificate
  • Academic performance transcript to date (on a university letterhead and stamped)
  • A bursary motivational letter (see our guide on how to write a bursary motivational letter)
  • Attach proof that you are registered or acceptance for year of study
  • Latest fee statement/quotation for the applied for year of study
  • Proof of household income (latest 3 months payslips of parent(s)/guardian(s) or affidavit stating unemployment)

Step 3

Step 4

If your application for the 2025 bursary was successful, you will receive a response within 30 days from the deadline.
