The BSG Bursary is awarded by Business Systems Group (BSG) – a South Africa consulting and technology company. Since it was established in 1997, BSG delivers business solution by employing data-driven insight. This, combined with innovative technology helps organisations improve their operations. Furthermore, it enhances customer experience while enabling business to achieve their strategic goals.
Part of what BSG is known for is commitment to developing youth talent while fostering innovation. The BSG Bursary programme enables the group to empower South Africa students in fields like technology. Furthermore, students in related study fields like business analysis and data science also benefit from the bursary programme.

The BSG Bursary is a financial support programme awarded to students who are pursuing qualifications in selected fields of study. Beneficiaries of the bursary programme have their tuition, books, meals and accommodation taken care of by BSG. Selected fields of study are in line with business analysis, data science and techology.
STUDY FIELDS COVERED BY BSG BURSARY
In order to be considered by BSG Gradstar for 2024 academic year you must be pursuing one of the following qualifications:
- Bcom 3rd year or Hons Information Systems
- Computer Science 3rd year or Hons.
- Business Science with Honors in IS/Computer Science
- Engineering – Chemical and Electrical
Bursary recipients must be enrolled in one of these institutions (Wits, Rhodes, UCT, UP, UJ, UKZN and UWC)

BSG BURSARY PROGRAMME – ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
You must meet the following criteria in order for your application funding to be considered for 2025 academic year:
- Applicants must be a South African citizen
- Applicants must have completed Matric
- Applicants must be studying towards an Undergraduate (3rd year) or Postgraduate (Honours) qualification, within one of the fields of study listed above
- Applicants must be studying at one of the following universities: University of the Witwatersrand, Rhodes University, University of Cape Town, University of Pretoria, University of Johannesburg, University of KwaZulu-Natal or University of the Western Cape
