The Vhembe District Municipality Bursary is offered by the office of the Mayor with the intention provide funding for 2025. It targets a set of skills that the municipality deem critical for it to execute its daily functions. Bursary recipients who complete their studies may be asked to join the municipality as interns.
Vhembe district municipality is composed of four local municipalities which are Musina, Makhado, Mutale and Thulamela. This municipality is in Limpopo and it interacts with three neighbouring countries: Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

VHEMBE MUNICIPALITY BURSARY ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following criteria for their requests to be considered by Vhembe:
- South African citizens
- Completed Matric
- Reside within the Vhembe District area, within the borders of Limpopo province
- Be registered or intend pursuing a qualification within one of selected fields of study listed above
- Be registered or intend pursuing studies in a recognised and accredited tertiary institute within the district
HOW TO APPLY FOR THE VHEMBE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY BURSARY?
STEP 1 – Download the official Vhembe District Municipality Bursary Application Form 2025 (.pdf) OR Alternatively collect the form from these local municipalities: Musina, Makhado, Thulamela, and Collins Chabane.
STEP 2 – Complete the form by providing all required personal and academic details
STEP 3 – Attach all required supporting documents listed below:
- Certified copy of your ID document
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate or final results
- Full academic performance transcript
- Proof of registration/acceptance/ provisional acceptance at a tertiary institutions (on letterhead)
- Certified copies of your Parents or guardians ID documents
- Parents proof of income (guardian’s is acceptable)
- Proof of address from SANCO/ Head Man/ Civic
