The Sakhisizwe Bursary is an initiative by Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) to provide financial assistance to deserving students. ACSA was established in 1993 as a state owned company charged with the responsibility to manage and operate major airports.
The role of ACSA is crucial as it involves provisioning of the country’s aviation infrastructure, sustainability and customer services. The bursary pogramme is Sakhisizwe Community Project’s commitment to education and development.

The Sakhisizwe Bursary Programme was initiated by ACSA working together with the Community Project as a financial scheme to provide financial support. It targets 2nd and 3rd year university students in selected fields of study outlined in this article.
The bursary caters for expenses incurred by successful applicants towards tuition fees, accommodation, books and a living allowance. This funding opportunity is hailed by many as it relieves students of stress resulting from inability to pay for tertiary education.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE SAKHISIZWE BURSARY
Interested students who wish to apply must meet the following eligibility requirements:

- You must be able to demonstrate that you are financial stressed.
- Be driven to contribute to the development of your community.
Graduates assisted by the Sakhisizwe Bursary Programme are expected to contribute to community they come from after completion.
