The OpenServe Bursary is offered by OpenServe, South Africa’s leading telecommunications infrastructure provider. It is a financial support scheme that get awarded to applicants who meet all requirements set out by OpenServe. Interested applicants must be students pursuing a qualification in ICT related fields of study.
To become OpenServe Bursary programme recipient, applicants must be on the 2nd and 3rd year of studies in Electrical Engineering (Light Current), Computer Engineering, IT, and Computer Science. Bursary opportunities are for undergraduates students enrolled in institutions of higher learning in South Africa.

OPENSERVE BURSARY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
For the coming year, applicants for the Openserve Bursary programme must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Only South African citizens can apply.
- Applicants must have completed Matric or Grade 12.
- Applicants must be studying at a South African recognised university.
- Applicants must be in 2nd or 3rd year of studies.
- You must have achieved 70% for Technology or Engineering subjects, and a minimum of 65% for all other subjects.
- 3rd year applicants must have achieved 70% in the Technology and Engineering, and an average of 65% or higher overall in the 2nd year.
- You must proceed to a postgraduate degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in the same field after completing the undergraduate qualification.
- Preference will be given to designated groups, namely, Africans, Coloureds, Indians, women and persons with disabilities, also referred to as Employment Equity (EE) candidates
