MERSETA BURSARY APPLICATION 2024/2025

The MerSETA Bursary opportunity will make it possible for you to gain the skills and grounding needed to make your mark in the manufacturing and engineering fields. If you have the ambition to work in one of the five merSETA sub-sectors and have excellent grades in mathematics or physical science (merSETA) may be looking for you.

  • B.Sc Engineering Electrical (light and heavy current) and Electronic
  • B.Sc Engineering (Chemical)
  • B.Sc Engineering (Metallurgy and Materials)
  • B.Sc Engineering (including Mechatronics)
  • B.Sc Engineering (Industrial)

University of Technology Option

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering (Light and heavy current & electronics)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE MERSETA BURSARY

  • Only South African citizens can apply
  • Must be either employed by a company registered with merSETA or unemployed and wishes to work in the engineering, manufacturing, and related service sectors.
  • Applicants must be in possession of a Matric certificate or equivalent or a post-matric qualification or equivalent.
  • Applicants must meet the minimum requirements for admission to the tertiary institution.
  • Applicants must be currently studying or intend to study in one of the selected fields of study.
