The Mike Brown Scholarship is offeref by Nedbank through the Eyethu Ownership Plan – an initiative launched in 2005 as part of Nedbank’s Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) strategy. It emphasizes the bank’s commitment to transformation in South Africa.

WHAT IS MIKE BROWN SCHOLARSHIP?
The Mike Brown Scholarship was established to honour honor the memory of Michael Brown who is the CEO of Nedbank Group. It targets posgraduate students in study fields that are considered as critical skills.
Successful applicants will have their tuition fees, books, meals and accommodation expenses paid for by the scholarship.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MIKE BROWN SCHOLARSHIP
- Citizenship – Applicants must be South African citizens
- Financial need – you must be able to demonstrate lack of financial ability to complete your studies
- Commitment to development – demonstrate and provide proof that you have been involved in community development programs before
- University admission – applicants are required to send proof of admission by higher education institution
- Leadership potential – present evident of leadership abilities or potential
- Community involvement – present evidence or proven record of community involvement

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Certified copy of your Suth Africa ID document
- Your latest academic transcript, including 2024 results and 2025 mid-year results if applicable
- Certified copies of your parents or guardians ID documents
- Parents or guardians proof of household income
- Parents or guardians home loan account statement and city or town council rates and taxes statement (not older than 3 months)
- Parents, guardians and applicants latest 3 months’ bank statements
Complete application form and supporting documents must be submit at the bursary office in your institution of higher learning.
