BURSARY PROVIDER DETAILS – ADSA
ADSA which stands for the Association for Dietetics in South Africa is an organisation that represents dietitians who are registered. Qualified dieticians become members by joining the organisation on a paid subscription basis. Member dieticians benefit from their memberships as they get to participate in discussions and activities that shape up the future of dieticians in South Africa.
ADSA has succeesfully established and continues to make strides in enforcing ethical guidelines for dietitians. This keeps the profession well within ethics and rendering of services with highest level of professionalism and integrity.
ABOUT ADSA BURSARY PROGRAMME – ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
ADSA invites applications from South Africa students who are in or have completed their first year of study. They must be pursuing a qualifications to become dieticians. Applicants must not be on the second year of studies but still on the first year to apply for financial assistance.
In order for your application to be considered by ADSA, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be a dietician student
- You must be on or have just completed your first year of studies
- You must not be on your second year of studies
- You must be an undergraduate student and postgraduates will not be supported
- You must be able to provide proof of financial distress
- Applicants must be students who are passionate about food science and health issues
- Demonstrate leadership skills
MORE ABOUT ADSA BURSARY – VALUE &BENEFITS
Dietician students who meet all requirements and are accepted in the programme will receive the folowing:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation and
- Books up to a prescribed amount per year
The above-mentioned allowances will be paid directly into the account of the institution where you are accepted and enrolled. The total annual amount that gets paid is R36 000.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS REQUIRED BY ADSA BURSARY
- A fully complete ADSA bursary application form done on the page above
- Motivation letter stating why you should be selected for support to study dietetics
- Your ID certified copy
- Certified copies of your latest academic results
- Certified proof of parents or guardian’s income (payslips, pension receipts, affidavit if parents unemployed)
- Certified copy of death certificate if parents are deceased
- Any other supporting documents (reference letters, proof of employment)
CLOSING DATE FOR ADSA BURSARY
Applications open on 4 September 2024 and will close on 4 December 2024. Late applications will not be considered.
