Applications Closing Date
Universities set out dates for all students to submit their applications for enrolment. These differ from university to university and applicants must return their applications before this date. This applies also for online applications. They also have a specified closing date.
You must bear in mind that you are competing with thousands of other applicants so you must try to apply as early as possible.
What Do I Need To Apply For University In South Africa?
Step 1
After identifying your university of choice, find out about the application process and closing dates for application. Determine also whether there is online applications.
Step 2
Once you have submitted your application letter, clearly stating the course options and your contact details, wait for the university to respond. Most will do so in writing. If time passes and it is nearing the closing date, do not hesitate to do a follow up.
Step 3
When the university has responded and allocated you with a temporal student number, the next thing they will need from you are your matric results. Like we mentioned before, you are competing for space so your proactivity will help you a great deal.
As soon as you receive your results that you were waiting for make sure that you submit them to your university of choice.
Application Fee
In order to process a bulk of applications universities receive every year, an application fee is charged which help them cater for the administration of all applications. The fee ranges from R100 to R500 and is non-refundable.
Applications Closing Date
Most universities in South Africa set their applications closing date by the end of September. By this time you should have sent your application letter and receive a reply from the university.
Registration Date
At the beginning of the year all universities communicate registration dates for each and every faculty. These dates are not the same to avoid stampede as it previous happened in some institutions. Make sure that you do not miss your date.
