The month of Julysignals the beginning of the second half of the year — a critical moment for students seeking funding. If you are in need of a bursary to complete your 2026 studies, you must start applying now. Almost all companies that offer bursaries for 2026 have published notices about opportunites they offer. These are contained in our list of bursaries closing in July 2025.
There is not much change from our list of bursaries closing in June 2025 that we published previously. The July list added a few more funding opportunities which include both bursaries and scholarships.
You are advised to always check the eligibility criteria and fields of study, and submit your application before the deadline.

Glencore Bursary
- Closing Date: 1 July 2025
- Description: Open to students pursuing studies in Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, and other mining-related fields.
NAC South Africa Bursary
- Closing Date: 11 July 2025
- Description: This bursary supports South African artists and cultural practitioners pursuing postgraduate studies abroad in the arts, culture, and heritage sector.
Jones & Wagener Bursary
- Closing Date: 31 July 2025
- Description: For students studying Civil Engineering, Environmental, or related fields, with a strong academic record.
Mediclinic Bursary
- Closing Date: 31 July 2025
- Description: Offered to students pursuing qualifications in Emergency Medical Care, Nursing, and other health sciences.
NFVF Bursary
- Closing Date: 31 July 2025
- Description: The National Film and Video Foundation offers this bursary to students in film, television, and audiovisual studies.
Ninety One Bursary
- Closing Date: 31 July 2025
- Description: Available to South African students pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Commerce.
SANS Killie Campbell Bursary
- Closing Date: 31 July 2025
- Description: For postgraduate students conducting research in history, anthropology, and related fields with a focus on Southern Africa.
Schauenburg Education Trust Bursary
- Closing Date: 31 July 2025
- Description: Supports students in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) who demonstrate financial need and academic potential.
