The PPS Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2016 by PPS, a leading South African financial services provider. The foundation’s mission is to improve access to education and contribute to the sustainable development of South Africa by nurturing the potential of its youth.
The Foundation remains committed to its mission of empowering South Africa’s youth. The foundation continues to expand its programs and partnerships and seeks to make an even greater impact in the future.
Who Can Apply?
To be considered for a bursary, you must meet all the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Be a South African citizen.
- Matriculation: * Be currently in Matric (grade 12) in 2023, or * Have completed Matric.
- Enrollment: Be studying or enrolled to study full-time at a recognized public tertiary institution in South Africa (University or University of Technology).
- Household Income: Have a household income of not more than R600,000 per annum.
- Preferred Fields of Study: Preference will be given to students pursuing studies towards a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) degree.
- Equity and Social Justice: Preference will also be given to previously disadvantaged candidates and financially deserving Black candidates (African, Coloured, Indian).
Fields of Study
Interested students who wish to receive financial assistance in 2024 must pursue a career in one of the following study fields:
- Science
- Technology
- Engineering
- Mathematics
- Humanities
PPS Bursary Value and Benefits
PPS will take care for the following expenses while you focus on your studies:
- tuition fees,
- text books,
- meals and
- accommodation at university residence
Additionally PPS Foundation will provide successful applicants with support session during the course of their studies.

Required Supporting Documents
- A certified copy of your ID document (not older than 3 months)
- A certified copy of your Matric certificate, or statement of results if the certificate is not yet issued
- Your full academic record to date, including the most recent results (must be on the institution’s official letterhead)
- Proof of registration for the current academic year (on the institution’s official letterhead)
- A financial statement from your university’s student finance department
- Pro forma invoices for all prescribed books
- A copy of your lease agreement, if residing in private accommodation
- Proof of household income for your parents or guardians:
- Recent payslips (if employed)
- An affidavit (if unemployed)
- Proof of social grant or pension (if applicable)
