ABOUT NUMSA BURSARY POGRAMME – FIELDS OF STUDY
The bursary scheme by NUMSA is aimed at assisting students who are dependents of NUMSA members or staff members in pursuing their tertiary studies. The aim objective of the bursary scheme is to remove the financial burden associated with higher education. It is also to empower deserving individuals to achieve their academic goals.
Bursaries will be awarded to students pursuing studies in the following fields:
- Bachelor of Education (B Ed) majoring in Science and Mathematics
- Bachelor of Commerce (B Com) majoring in Accounting, Financial Management and Auditing
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Engineering (B Eng) with a diploma or degree in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, Metallurgical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Computer Science/ Information Technology
- Biomedical Technology
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NUMSA BURSARY
To be considered for a NUMSA bursary award, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a dependent of a NUMSA member or staff member
- Be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate program at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa
- Demonstrate academic excellence and a strong commitment to their studies
- Exhibit financial need
HOW TO APPLY FOR NUMSA BURSARY
You will need to download NUMSA Bursary Application Form in order to apply for 2024 academic year.
Interested applicants are invited to submit a comprehensive bursary application form, accompanied by the following supporting documents:
- Certified copy of South African identity document (ID)
- Certified copy of Matric certificate or equivalent
- Full academic record or transcript, printed on official letterhead from the tertiary institution
- Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
