ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER – KZN FILM COMMISSION
The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission (KZNFC) was established in year 2010 with the aim of developing policies that will attract national and international interest for the film industry in the province. It is a provincial authority with its base in the KwaZulu Natal province of South Africa.
The KZN Film Commission is set to do work in promiting the province of KwaZulu Natal as one of global destinations for production of film. The commission also gets invloved in activities aimed at facilitating investment for the industry in the province. One of its strategic positioning is its ability and mandate to address the issue of imbalances of infrastructure, resources and skills.
Since its establishment the commission has successfully enabled a condusive envirnment for employment creation within the film sector of the province.
WHAT IS KZN FILM COMMISSION BURSARY
The bursary is a financial support that is made available by the commission to students who wish to pursue studies within film and production sector. These include film and TV production and animation. Students who wish to appl must be studying or intend studying in institution with the KZN province.
KZN FILM COMMISSION BURSARY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- You must be previously disadvantaged to apply
- People living with different forms of disabilities
- Pursuing a qualification in Film/TV Production and Animation
- Animation applicants must be postgraduate students
- Acting qualifications will not be considered

When you return the form, it must be accompanied by the following set of dcuments:
- Certified copy of your ID
- Certified copy of your Matric/Grade 12 certificate
- Students presently in Matric must provide copies of their June report
- Tertiary applicants must provide a full transcript of the university performance results
- Proof of admissin for 2025 academic year (KZN based institutions only)
- Fees schedule from the institution
