ABOUT THE SANDO BURSARY TRUST
The Sando Bursary Trust demonstrates its commitment to improving access to tertiary education by targeting the missing middle students. These are students who do not qualify for the NSFAS but do not have money to further their studies. Over and above the financial aid, the Trust also provides mentorship support to help bursary beneficiaries reach full career potential.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR THE SANDO BURSARY?
The bursary targets students who are South African citizens and reside in the Western Cape Province. They must be going for the first year of studies in 2026 academic year. This funding opportunty is open to any field of study provided it is undertaken in any recognised public university or tertiary education institution.
Applicants for the 2026 bursary must meet the eligibity criteria for their requests to be considered by the Sando Bursary Trust.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE SANDO BURSARY
If you are interested and you wish to apply for the Sando Bursary Trust Bursary 2026, make sure that you meet all the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must reside in the Western Cape
- Must be in Matric in 2025, or have completed Matric recently
- Must be starting first-year studies in 2026
- Must be studying towards any field
- Must have a minimum 60% average in Matric (final or latest results)
- Must come from a household earning less than R50 000 per month (or R600 000 per year)
- Must have no criminal record
