Services SETA Bursary assistance is open to both unemployed and employed youth of South Africa.

About Services Seta

The Services SETA focuses on training and skills development in sectors of the eonomy that has been identified by the government. It is one of 21 other SETA tasked with the similar task of skill development in the services industry. These include energy, gas, renewables and water services sectors

The funding that gets availed to this SETA is facilitated by government through incentives aimed at encouraging private sector participation

Eligibility Requirements for the Services Seta Bursary

South African students who wish to apply for this bursary must meet the following eligibility requirements listed below:

  • You must be a South Africa citizen to apply,
  • Your age must be between 18 and 35 years old
  • You must be unemployed presently
  • Full time enrolled students at the University of Zululand
  • You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 50%
  • Have a total household income of less than R600 000 per annum
  • You must be a South Africa citizen to apply
  • Be enrolled towards a qualification offered by the University of Zululand
  • Full time students

Services Seta Bursary Value and Benefits

The Services SETA bursary pays for either full or partial amounts of the following expenses:

  • tuition fees,
  • prescribed textooks,
  • accommodation and meals (unemployed students only), as well as
  • a travel and research allowance (Masters and PhD students only).

How To Apply?

Applications must be done via Mr L. Dube and the University of Zululand FAB Office 10 in the Administration Building

Required Documents

  • Your ID document (certified copy)
  • Certified copy of your Matric certificate or equivalent, if a 1st-year student
  • Previous academic record/ results, if a 2nd or 3rd-year student (certified copy)
  • Proof of application/ provisional acceptance offer from university/ TVET College, if a 1st-time applicant (if not yet available, must be submitted as soon as received)
  • Proof of combined household annual income

Closing Date

15 September 2025.

Late submissions will result in your disqualification. Apply before the closing date.
