What is Nedbank Bursary?

Nedbank External Bursary Programme funds academically deserving students with financial need who want to study full-time towards first undergraduate or Honours degree/diploma at SA public university or University of Technology. Focus on STEM + Green Economy (but Commerce students doing Finance/Accounting with Maths are considered under STEM).

Fields Funded for 2027

Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Green Economy skills (environmental, sustainability, renewable energy). Commerce degrees with strong Maths focus (Actuarial, Accounting, Financial Management) fall under STEM.

Who Can Apply?

  • SA citizen, in Matric or completed Matric
  • Studying or intending to study 1st undergrad/Honours in 2027 at public University/University of Technology (full-time)
  • Strong academic: 65% average for 2026 academic year + 65% in subjects aligned to qualification
  • Passed Mathematics (NOT Maths Literacy) in Matric
  • Proven financial need

How to Apply for Nedbank Bursary 2027?

STEP 2: Upload compulsory docs:

  • Certified ID
  • Grade 11 + Matric mid-year if in Matric / Matric cert + mid-year if 1st year / Latest tertiary if 2nd/3rd year
  • Proof of admission to public university/University of Technology
  • Nedbank Financial Checks Affidavit (signed by you + parent/guardian)
  • Your latest 3 months bank statements

STEP 3: If shortlisted: submit parents income docs within 7 days (IDs, payslips/affidavits, bank statements, consent form)
