- ABOUT THE JSE EMPOWERMENT FUND
JSE Empowerment Fund Bursary supports academically strong South African students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds who are pursuing full-time studies in selected fields such as Accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Mathematics and Informatics.
The bursary is aimed at students who are already at university and entering their second or third year of undergraduate study, or students entering an Honours programme. Applications are restricted to students studying at universities selected by the JSE.
The JSE provides comprehensive financial and educational support through the JSE Empowerment Fund (JEF) Trust, including tuition, living expenses, books and study materials, transportation allowance, a stipend and a laptop, together with additional academic and wellness support.
JSE EMPOWERMENT FUND BURSARY STATUS: 2027 NOT YET OPEN — As of September 2026, the official JSE bursary page still displays the previous application cycle, which closed on 31 October 2025. The JSE has not yet published an official 2027 application opening or closing date.
