Expenses Covered by the Pyrotec Bursary
The bursary will cover expenses students incur during their studies in one of fields listed above. Below is the list of expenses that will be paid:
- Tuition Fees – 100% registration and tuition fees will be paid in full and payments will be deposited into the bank account of the institution.
- Accommodation – Where required and approved, Pyrotec will cover expenses for accommodation which has been averaged to be equal to a single room in an institution of higher learning in South Africa.
- Transport allowance – students who travel from where they reside to attend classes must provide proof of address wich gets used to determine the amount payable for transport.
- Book allowance – an amount not more than R5000 will be paid directly to students’ personal bank account each year.
Eligibility Criteria – Who Can Apply?
Preference for the Pyrotec Bursary Programme 2026 will be given to African & Coloured candidates only.
Meals, repeat modules (self-funded), or outstanding fees will not be covered by this bursary. Upon completion you will be expected to work-back a period equal to the number of years you were funded.

You will be required to provide the following list of documents:
- A certified copy of your ID (green book or smart card).
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate.
- Acceptance or registration proof at the university where you will be studying (in a letterhead).
- Bursary motivation letter stating why Pyrotec, why this study field and how you will give back
- Students residing outside of campus must provide proof of address for travelling allowance.
