NASPERS BURSARY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The bursary seeks to award academically and financially deserving students pursuing degrees in STEM the opportunity to complete their studies. Applicants must be studying towards commerce and business sciences, the opportunity to study in the sought after fields of Science,Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and commerce and business sciences, at any recognised South African university. South Africa needs more brilliant minds in these fields, and we want to help unlock the potential of the next generations of scientists, engineers, doctors, business professionals and tech gurus!
The bursaries are awarded to candidates from first year through to honours level.
NASPER BURSARY VALUE – WHAT DOES IT COVER?
The bursary will cater for all expenses listed below while students focus on passing their studies:
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation
- Meals
- Prescribed textbooks
- A living allowance
- A laptop computer (first years only)
We want you to succeed on all fronts and understand that adjusting to university life can be challenging. That is why we provide access to academic and psychosocial support. This will include:
- Monthly counselling sessions
- Monthly workshops
- Career guidance and work readiness training
- A mentorship programme
NASPERS BURSARY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants for the bursary must be South African citizens. Preference will be given to those from previously disadvantaged groups. Their combined household income should be under R650,000 per year.
Grade 12 students applying for 1st year studies:
- Minimum 60% Maths (not Maths Literacy) for final Grade 11 results
- Minimum 65% overall final Grade 11 results
- Minimum 65% overall in June examinations
First year students applying for 2nd year studies
- Minimum 65% aggregate in June results
- Minimum 65% 1st year final results
- Registered full time student
Third year students applying for Honours degrees
- Minimum 68% average mid-year results
- Minimum 68% final year results
- On track for acceptance
Qualifying study courses:
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and commerce and business sciences.
