WHAT DOES THE ESKOM BURSARY COVER?
The Eskom bursary programme provides financial support to students selected for the programme. Eskom describes its bursary initiative as more than financial assistance, with beneficiaries also receiving access to quality education, mentorship and career-development opportunities connected to the energy sector.
Eskom has not provided a detailed 2027 rand-value breakdown of each bursary benefit in the current online programme listings. For this reason, applicants should rely on the terms communicated by Eskom during the bursary process rather than assuming that older benefit amounts published by third-party websites still apply to the 2027 intake.
Eskom’s own announcement about its 2026 bursary awards states that the programme provides financial assistance together with mentorship and career-defining opportunities. The organisation awarded 200 bursaries for the 2026 financial year and said that the programme forms part of its long-term investment in developing engineers, scientists and other specialists.
