ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER – MOTSEPE FOUNDATION
The Motsepe Foundation was founded by a South African prominent businessmen Patrice Motsepe and his wife Dr Precious Motsepe in year 1999. It focuses on empowering communities through education, economic development, health and arts and culture.
Basic African concept of ubuntu drives the foundation to help those in need of financia assistance. Compassion and generosity guides the work the foundation is doing. These are primary set of values both its founders believe in and embrace.
ABOUT MOTSEPE FOUNDATION BURSARY – FIELDS OF STUDY
The Motsepe Foundation Bursary caters for South African students who wish to undertake qualifications under STEM. These are include study fields like Agriculture, Arts, Business Studies, Engineering, IT, Maths, Science, and Medicine.
To understand fields of study that the Foundation considers, below we have put together a list of all fields. They are as follows:
- Sciences
- Engineering / Entrepreneurship
- Technology
- Mathematics
- Business Studies
- Medical Studies
- Art and Agriculture
- Law studies
- Final stage
Eligibility Criteria
- Only South African citizens can apply
- Be financially needy and unable to pay for your studies
- You must have passed with a minimum of 70% in Matric without Life Orientation calculated.
- You must be registered or accepted to to study in one of fields mentioned above
- Possess exceptional academic performance abilities

- Complete application form by student
- Certified copy of Identity document
- Proof of residence
- Confirmation letter from Department of Social Services (this should be signed and stamped) – Pensioners, child support, orphans grant
- Pay slip / Employment letter /3 months Bank statement
- Certified affidavit (to support proof of income for self-employed parents/ guardians to be attached to proof of income)
- Certified copy of Identity document
- Proof of residence
