Are you an academically achieving student who aspire to become an engineer but lack funds to complete studies? The Lesedi Bursary Programme intends awarding financial assistance in a form of a bursary to Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Studies must be undertaken in a recognised institution of higher learnign within the borders of South Africa.
Lesedi is a South African consortium with business interests energy, mining, and industrial projects. Over the years, Lesedi has become a leader in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC).
About the Lesedi Bursary?
The Lesedi Bursary is a financial support that is available to five applicants who meet eligibility requirements for 2026. It targets undergraduate students who are appsionate about engineering studies.
Funds are designed to cover expenses incurred during studies to allow students to focus on completing their qualifications. Only mechanical and electrical engineering applicants must apply for 2026 academic year.
Lesedi Bursary Coverage
Successful applicants for the bursary will have the following expenses covered:
- Tuition fees (full or partial, subject to assessment)
- Accommodation costs
- Prescribed textbooks
- A monthly stipend
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be South African citizens
- Applicants must be enrolled or accepted at a recognized University or University of Technology
- Applicants must possess strong academic performance record in engineering studies
- Applicants must be 35 years old or younger
Lesedi Bursary Programme Award Condition
The bursary award is on the basis of two conditions:
- Academic performance
- Financial affordability and recruitment policy
