GLENCORE BURSARY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for a Glencore bursary, you must meet the following criteria:

Academic Requirements:

  • Completed your Matric with a minimum symbol of 6 for Mathematics and Physical Science (Engineering) or 5 (Technical fields).
  • Currently studying or planning to study at an accredited South African university towards a relevant qualification in the listed fields.
  • Maintaining a minimum average of 60% if currently studying in your 2nd or 3rd year.

Additional Requirements:

  • Not receiving any other bursary funding.
  • Belonging to one of the following groups (preference will be given, but all are welcome to apply):
    • Colored
    • Indian
    • African female
    • Person with a disability
  • Residing in a community where Glencore operates (though applications from elsewhere are accepted).

GLENCORE BURSARY PROGRAMME- FIELDS OF STUDY

In order for your application to be considered by Glencore for 2024 academic year, you must be pursuing a course in one of the following study fields:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Extraction Metallurgy
  • Financial Services
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mining Engineering

GLENCORE BURSARY VALUE & BENEFITS

The following expenses will be covered by Glencore while you focus on your studies:

  • tuition fees,
  • prescribed textbooks,
  • accommodation,
  • meals,
  • personal allowance and payment for compulsory excursions or seminars

Applications must be completed online via Glencore Bursary Application 2025.

Make sure that your email application is acompanied by the following set of documents:

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Matric certificate (certified copy)
  • Latest academic transcripts, if currently studying (certified copy)
  • Proof of registration/ acceptance/ provisional acceptance for 2025 (on institutions letterhead)
  • Your latest CV
  • Proof of residence
