AFRICAN RAINBOW MINERALS (ARM) BURSARY 2026: APPLICATIONS OPEN Closes 21 November 2025 – Apply NOW for Full Mining & Geology Funding!

The African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) bursary is open to applications from students who wish to pursue undergraduates studies in fields set out by the company. The bursary is open only to South African students who are enrolled or intend enrolling in a recognised institution of higher learning in South Africa.

The ARM is a mining company founded by Mr Patrice Motsepe in year 2003. ARM is based in South Africa and has interests in a wide range of mines, including platinum and platinum group metals, iron, coal, copper, and gold. Its headquarters is based in Sandton, Johannesburg.

African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) is a diversified mining and minerals company headquartered in South Africa. ARM mines and beneficiates iron ore, manganese ore, chrome ore, platinum group metals (PGMs), nickel, and coal. The company also produces manganese alloys in Malaysia and has an investment in gold through its shareholding in Harmony Gold Mining Company (Harmony).

ARM’s mining operations are located in South Africa and Malaysia. The company’s iron ore mines are located in the Northern Cape and Limpopo provinces of South Africa. ARM’s manganese ore mines are located in the Northern Cape province, and its chrome ore mines are located in the Limpopo province. The company’s PGM and nickel mines are located in the North West and Limpopo provinces, respectively. ARM’s coal mines are located in the Mpumalanga and Free State provinces.

About the African Rainbow Minerals Bursary – Fields of Study

In order for your bursary application to be considered you must be studying towards the following fields of study:

  • BSc in Environmental & Resource Studies
  • BSc Honours in Geography & Environmental Studies
  • BSc and BSc Honours in Geology
  • BSc Honours in Mineral Processing and Ore Beneficiation
  • BSc in Mining Geology

What Does The Bursary Cover?

The financial assistance covers the registration fees, tuition fees, meals, accommodation, prescribed books and data cost. The bursary gets renewal annually upon submission of latest academic transcripts.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the ARM Gold bursary, applicants must meet the following application criteria:

The closing date for application is 21 November 2025. Late submission will result in the disqualification of your application.

  • Your SA ID
  • Your Matric/Grade12 certificate
  • Your latest results (applicants already in their 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of studies)
