ABB Education Trust Bursary Programme 2026

ABB South Africa is an electrification and automation company servicing energy, mining, and industrial sectors. Added to the ABB’s specialization is digitisation and robotics.The ABB Education Trust Bursary is a financial support scheme that funds technology and engineering studies. It provides assistance to local community students who want to expand their horizons by becoming engineers.

Fields of Study

The ABB Education Trust Bursary offers financial assistance to South African students who wish to pursue the following qualifications:

  • BEng/BSc in Industrial Engineering
  • BEng/BSc in Mechanical Engineering
  • BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering

All the above studies must be undertaken as a Degree and not Diploma

Eligibility Criteria – Who Can Apply?

These requirements apply for all applicants pursuing studies in 2026 academic year:

  • Only South African citizens can apply
  • You must be entering 2nd year or higher with 65% average in your first year
  • Applicants must be pursuing Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree
  • Studies must be undertaken in a recognised university in South Africa
  • Combined household income R600 000 or less per year (payslips/affidavit needed).
  • You must be a Black Female (African, Coloured and Indian)
  • Black female students with disabilities are encouraged to apply

Expenses Coverage

Successful applicants will have the following expenses covered:

  • Full tuition & registration
  • Prescribed books
  • On-campus residence or travel allowance
  • Laptop (if required)
  • Monthly stipend

  • Fees statement for 2026

  • Evidence of financial need (parents/guardian proof of income)

14 November 2025.
