About The JSE Empowerment Fund Bursary – Fields of Study

The JSE Empowerment Fund Bursary will be awarded within the following fields of study (undergraduate and postgraduate):

  • Accounting Sciences (BCom)
  • Finance (BCom)
  • Economic Sciences (BCom)
  • Risk and Investments
  • Actuarial Sciences
  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Computational and Applied Mathematics
  • Robotics

Eligibility Requirements

If you wish to apply for this financial assistance for the JSE, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • Completed Matric
  • Studying full time within one of the aforementioned fields of study (second/ third or Honours year)
  • Undergraduate students: must have obtained a minimum overall average of 60%
  • Postgraduate students: must have obtained a minimum overall average of 50%
  • From a designated group
  • From a previously disadvantaged background

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Matric certificate (certified copy)
  • Latest academic results (on tertiary letterhead)
  • Full academic record/ transcript (on tertiary letterhead)
  • Undergraduate qualification certificate, if studying at postgraduate level (certified copy)

The closing date for application is 31 October 2025. Late submissions will result in your disqualification so please apply on time.
