It achieved this by helping dedicated and ambitious students through the Momentum Group Bursary. This is a bursary programme which helps students who wish to become actuaries by providing them with financial support to pursue their studies. This initiative not only alleviates financial barriers but also nurtures future leaders who are passionate about building a career in actuarial science.
The Momentum Group Bursary Programme targets students who are already pursuing actuarial science-related degrees at South African universities. It provide comprehensive financial support, enabling students to focus entirely on their academic success without the burden of tuition or living expenses.
What The Momentum Group Bursary Covers
Below is the list of expenses that the bursary programme covers:
- Full tuition and annual registration fees
- Textbook, general, and data allowances
- Accommodation and meal allowances (where applicable)
- Travel allowance (where applicable)
- Mentorship, vacation work, and networking opportunities with Momentum Group professionals
Who Can Apply?
To be considered for the Momentum Bursary Programme 2026, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be currently enrolled in one of the following degrees at a recognised South African university:
- BSc Actuarial Science
- BBus Science Actuarial Science
- BCom Actuarial Science
- BSc Actuarial and Financial Mathematics
- Have successfully completed their first year of actuarial studies
- Achieved a minimum GPA of 70%
- Not be a recipient of any other bursary funding for the 2025 academic year
Additional Requirements
Over and above eligibility requirements, Momentum Group is seeking candidates who are:
- Passionate about actuarial science
- Effective communicators (both verbal and written)
- Analytical problem-solvers
- Organised, disciplined, and self-driven
- Honest, ethical, and results-oriented
Application Process
Applications for this bursary programme must be done online via the Momentum Group Bursary Application 2026 official page.
There is a set of documents you must submit with your application for funding. Make sure these are clear and are certified within three month when you apply. These are:
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric certificate (certified copy)
- Most recent academic transcripts (for all years of study)
- Detailed Curriculum Vitae
- 1-page Motivational letter (see our guide on how to write a bursary motivational letter)
NB: Your application will not qualify is one of the above supporting documents is missing.
Deadline For The Momentum Group Bursary Application
The closing date for applications is 31 August 2025. Make sure that you application reaches Momentum Group before this date. Late applications will not qualify.
