ELIGIBILITYCRITERIA

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Citizenship: South African citizen or permanent resident
  • Academic level: Current matriculant (Grade 12) or first-year university student
  • Study mode: Full-time undergraduate degree in one of the approved fields at a public South African university (not private institutions)
  • Matric performance:
    • At least 70% in Mathematics (not Maths Literacy)
    • At least 70% for English FAL or 65% for English HL
    • Minimum 50% in all other subjects
  • University students: Minimum 60% overall average in first semester exams
  • Additional requirement for Actuarial Science: Only first-year students may apply, except UCT Business Science Actuarial Science students
