The National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is constituted in year 1999 in terms of act 56 of 1999 with the aim to provide financial support to students who are deserving in terms of the criteria stipulated.
What Does Nsfas Funding Cover?
Successful NSFAS applicants will receive the following financial support:
- Fees for registration
- Tuition fees
They also receive allowances for the following:
- Personal Care
- Food allowances
- Study Material
- Transport or accommodation
Who Can Apply for NSFAS Financial Support?
Students who are able to demonstrate that they are unable to afford their fees but are presenting good results.
NSFAS Mastercard
NSFAS is introducing something calle NSFAS Mastercard with the aim to help its beneficiaries manage their money much better and easier. The scheme is partnering with some agencies that will assist it to make the service of benefit to students.
